Salary: £24,907 – £37,890 per annum Band 5/6 dependent on experience.

We have an exciting opening for an enthusiastic and proactive Registered and or Specialist Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Dysphagia team, a joint working dietetic and speech and language therapy team, within Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) working within a specialist mental health and learning disabilities NHS Foundation Trust.

Clinical areas include working with patients with mental health problems such as functional diagnosis eg depression to organic conditions such as dementia in varying places such as inpatient and community settings. This will involve a strong emphasis on the management and support of people with malnutrition and related challenges as well of a wider range of nutritional needs.

We will support the post holder with development of skills and knowledge within the field of mental health.If you are applying for the band 5 post we will support your progression and training from a band 5 to a band 6 within the same role.

The post holder will also have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, staff and student training.

This post is part of a wider dietetic team which covers adult mental health, children and young people, eating disorders, learning disabilities and secure inpatient services – with these areas supported by our Professional Head of Dietetic Services and several highly skilled Lead Dietitians.

Candidates should be a Registered Dietitian, preferably with some experience of working in a mental health setting, with excellent communication and IT skills. A working knowledge of behaviour change and motivational interviewing would be desirable. We have a robust clinical supervision structure and you would have opportunities to receive formal and informal training. You will receive regular clinical supervision with the Lead Dietitian, with a strong emphasis on Continued Professional Development and post-graduate training.

The post will usually require travelling to various sites and parking in our Trust car parks is free.
