SPECIALIST DIETITIAN IN EATING DISORDERS

Pay range TBC – dependent on experience

Working hours: part-time, up to 3 days a week

Are you looking to enhance or develop your Dietetic skills in the field of eating disorders in a team that highly values the role of the Dietitian?  This is a unique and rare opportunity to work in an inpatient service providing a psychologically informed and holistic programme of care for eating disorders and extend your skills further into Complex Mental Health/Trauma services.   You will be joining the team at an exciting time in our development.  The Naomi and Kemp units, formerly part of The Retreat, are now part of the Schoen Clinic a family-run hospital group who have extensive expertise in the evidence-based treatment of eating disorders and complex mental health and have a proven record of treatment quality and excellence.

We are ideally looking for a Dietitian with experience of eating disorders.  However, we would also accept applications from Dietitians without direct eating disorder experience who can demonstrate an interest in this clinical area, relevant transferable skills, and a willingness to learn on the job.  There will be opportunity for specialist training and clinical supervision to develop your knowledge and skills.  Our programmes are psychologically informed and holistic so the right candidate would demonstrate our commitment to a collaborative approach to dietetic intervention.  The ability to form good therapeutic relationships is essential and the role requires the candidate to be a strong and consistent voice within the multi-disciplinary team.

You will work alongside and be supported by the Lead Dietitian to deliver dietetic services across the 2 inpatient units.  The core role will be within the Naomi Inpatient Eating Disorder team, with the opportunity to expand your expertise into the into Complex Mental Health/Trauma service.  The Naomi unit has a full MDT (Consultant Psychiatrist, Clinical Psychologist, CBT Therapist, OT, Dietitian, Physio, Specialist Nurses & Support Workers) with significant expertise in the treatment of Eating Disorders who highly value the role and expertise of the Dietitian.  There is a holistic ‘Pathways to Recovery’ programme for the patients that ensures all aspects of their lives are supported during the recovery process, including physical monitoring, self-catering and social eating.  This unit is CBT informed and there will be training opportunities both formal and informal to develop your skills in this area as well as Clinical Supervision opportunities in group and individual settings.
