Job Description
Salary: £36,351.51 – £40,078.23
Location: Central Birmingham
Job type: Permanent, Full time
Deadline: 11:59am 15 December 2020
Interviews: Monday 11 & Tuesday 12 January 2021 (to be confirmed)

We are the British Dietetic Association, the Association of UK dietitians.  We are a not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham employing dedicated, dynamic and professional staff who deliver services for our membership of 9,000 dietitians.

The BDA is recruiting a Policy Officer (Professional Practice) to join our committed and successful team.  We cover all aspects of professional practice and development including support worker education, pre-registration education, International PEN resource development, evidence-based practice and policy development, research, post-graduate development, online learning and CPD, ethics and professional advice and guidance.

This is an exciting role which will be an initial point of contact for the profession on questions of professional practice and role development. In any week, you could deal with engaging with government or NHS bodies, specialist groups and other AHPs on joint projects, producing a short evidence-based BDA policy statement on a given dietetic topic, attending a health-related conference or supporting members with new/extended role development

The role will have specific responsibility for supporting professional development projects such as outcomes & metrics, electronic records and SNOMED coding, digital transformation, workforce intelligence and supporting work on advanced practice role development. The role will also be responsible for communicating the work of the team via webinar, video and social media.

The post holder may not have experience in all aspects of the role but what will be key is the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders on topics which push boundaries for dietetics and promote the role of dietitians as leaders in the field of nutrition. You will be required to use strong project management skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.

We are committed to providing equal opportunities in employment.  We intend to do this by maintaining and rigorously implementing an Equal Opportunities Policy and Code of Practice.
