Exciting opportunity to join The Professional Jockeys Association (PJA) Nutrition Team
The PJA are looking for a part time accredited sports dietitian or sports nutritionist to join their nutrition team to promote good nutritional practice in racing jockeys.
The post will be based at the new Injured Jockeys Fund’s Rehabilitation Centre Peter O’Sullevan House in Newmarket. The key purpose of the role is to provide one-to-one nutritional consultations to currently licensed Jockeys, former Jockeys and IJF beneficiaries.
The applicant will be expected to be able to attend Peter O’Sullevan House at least once a week for 3 hours minimum. Living within easy reach would be an advantage. There may also be opportunities to be more involved with the Nutrition team and for the hours to increase.
Applicants will be expected to have the appropriate qualifications in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, have at least 5 years’ experience and preferably be on the Sports and Exercise Nutrition Register. Experience in weight management sport would be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
Whilst the position currently only offers a few hours a week, the post will offer excellent experience of working in this challenging equestrian sport and there is anticipated growth as the new Centre develops.
For more information, please contact PJA Nutrition Team Leader Julia Scott Douglas on 07768 996296 or email email@example.com
The role will commence in January 2020 with interviews taking place at Peter O’Sullevan House on Monday 28 October.
