Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Cancer Allied Health Professional to join the Wales Cancer Network, which is part of the NHS Wales Health Collaborative, hosted by Public Health Wales. The Wales Cancer Network brings together medical, clinical and project professionals in a supportive and dynamic team. Our programmes are driven by clinical knowledge, patient experience, research and embracing new technologies and developments in cancer care. Person centred care is at the heart of everything we do.

The Wales Cancer Network is aligning its work plan to the National Clinical Framework and is set to have a key role in the NHS Executive. This should provide the opportunity for both the Network and lead roles within the network to have greater influence over the planning and delivery of cancer services at a National and regional level, as well as greater consistency and equity across local health organisations.

We are seeking an HCPC registered AHP with relevant post graduate experience, to take on this challenging role which will provide clinical leadership on the strategic direction for Allied Health Professional (AHP) teams in Oncology and Palliative Care across Wales. The post-holder will act as a professional resource and advisor, to provide support and guidance on all matters concerning cancer rehabilitation including embedding principles of co-production, value-based care, prudent healthcare, and supporting self-management.  The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong communication, influencing, interpersonal and motivational skills as the successful delivery of the strategic AHP agenda in Wales is dependent on collaborative working and the ability to develop strong relationships.

This is an exciting opportunity for those wishing to step up into AHP leadership at a senior level and the successful candidate will be supported in this role.
