Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Dietetics

Permanent, up to 1.0 FTE

Salary: Lecturer – £40,070 – £47,028 per annum, pro rata

Salary: Senior Lecturer – £50,510 – £56,307 per annum, pro rata

AECC University College is looking to appoint a new Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Dietetics to take a lead in the role out of the new level 7 Dietetics apprenticeship as well as contributing to the existing MSc Dietetics (pre-registration) course. 

Located in the beautiful coastal town of Bournemouth, Dorset with a mission to create a healthier society through education, research and clinical care, we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our diverse and growing multi-professional team. We have recently launched an innovative pre-registration masters degree in Dietetics which offers an exciting new route to qualification for those who have a previous degree in health.

We are seeking exceptional academics to help shape our progressive future who can contribute to our developing programme of educational courses, research and enterprise activities working closely with our prestigious network of partners nationally and internationally. The University College is committed to supporting its staff in pursuing scholarship and research in teaching and discipline-based subject areas. 

Utilising dedicated clinical teaching spaces, onsite clinical facilities, simulation and cutting-edge technology we aim to deliver courses which provide work ready graduates who excel in their chosen field.

Reporting to the Subject Group Lead, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of clinical education to dietetic students and apprentices. Duties may include course leadership, unit leadership, high quality teaching, assessment and constructive feedback to help learners in their development. The post holder will be supported to develop research in support of the institution’s research strategy or to develop and undertake clinical practice within our dedicated onsite facilities. 

About the person

We seek enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitians to join our team who are HCPC and BDA registered with knowledge of the UK higher education sector. The successful candidate will have an ability to foster student learning and development, possess excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and have a clear vision for the development of dietetic education within the University College.

The successful candidate must maintain their own development as a registered dietitian and may contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and apprenticeship courses within the institution’s portfolio.
